Roku Search Tips

Here are a few shortcuts and tips to make your Roku searches more sucessful.

When searching for content using Roku Search the results will be listed from all search enabled channels. Something Roku does that you won't find on other media streamers is they list the results from Free to the highest cost.

For example, let's say you are looking for a newer movie and it it is playing on Netflix and Amazon. Since you may already have a subscription to Netflix, and Amazon charges $4.99 to rent the movie this can save you a lot of money by finding all the channels that offer free content and listing them first.

 - Roku Search works with either Text or Voice. If you have a Roku 3 or Roku 4, which both come with the Voice enabled remote control, you can use Roku Voice Search to find TV Shows, Movies, News Headlines or even today's Sports Scores.

 - Roku Search for News and Sports headlines will only show results for the last 7-days.

 - You can search by names of Movies, TV Shows, Actors, Directors or find new Roku Streaming Channels, and Games.

 - You can also use Roku Search on iOS and Android. Besides using your Roku remote to search for content,  download these apps and search for new content directly from your hand held devices.

 - Roku Search only works currently with Public channels. Private Roku channels, as of yet do not have the Search feature enabled.
