XBMC Apple TV Jailbreak Hub Wizard

Quickly Setup XBMC with Hub Wizard on Your Jailbroken Apple TV 2

If you decide to jailbreak your 2nd generation Apple TV and want to turn it into a full fledged media player by installing XBMC,  the Hub Wizard Beta Add-on will make this process quite painless. While installing XBMC is fairly straight forward, it does have quite a few setting that need tweaking. This can often be frustrating and time consuming and will not leave you with that warm and fuzzy plug-n-play feeling Apple TVs are known for.

Hub Wizard used to be a stand alone App that required installation on a computer to guide you through the process of setting up your XBMC media player software. Recently the developer turned this app into an XBMC Beta Add-on that can be deployed directly from within XBMC. Even though it is still a beta version, the Hub Wizard add-on works really well. This guide will walk you through step by step to help you quickly setup XBMC on your jailbroken Apple TV.

Hub Wizard Features

Hub Wizard by default adds a long list of Add-ons to your XBMC install. Click here » to view the complete list of features.

For those that may not yet still not be familiar with XBMC, here is a brief summary of what it is.  While the Apple TV interface is awesome and intuitive, XBMC is an amazing piece of software much like Plex that along with the help of some very useful add-ons will turn your Apple TV into a full fledged internet media center. By opening it up to and playing many different file formats (video, audio and photos) from a media server or computer, or streamed directly from the internet. XBMC will greatly enhance the capabilities of your jailbroken Apple TV. You will forever be set free from iTunes jail and it's limiting file playback capabilities.
