Hulu Adds Content from Discovery Channel

Hulu Adds Content from Discovery Channel

Not All TV Seasons Are Included

Hulu recently has been expanding their live TV streaming service by adding more content from major content producers and popular cable TV channels like the Discovery Channel. This is an American pay television channel that is owned by Discovery, Inc.

Hulu also recently signed a major deal with Scripps Networks Interactive which is owned by Discovery, Inc. to also add additional content from HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel. A total of 4,000 non-fiction shows will be added to Hulu Live.

Beginning this December, Hulu Live TV subscribers will be able to access content from the Discovery Channel, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Motor Trend and Animal Planet.

While currently some content and shows from the Discovery Channel are now already playing on Hulu, not all seasons of popular shows have made it onto the platform.

For example, Mythbusters a popular show on Discovery is missing the first nine seasons. Other shows only feature the first few seasons.

Looks like there is still more work to be done and they will need to add more content to make watching Discovery on Hulu a full replacement for the same channel on Cable TV.

Hulu Live TV Keeps Getting Better

Even though all the content is not yet available, they may continue to add more as we get closer to the end of the year. This is making Hulu Live look even better as an alternative live streaming TV service to many of the others currently available for cord-cutters like YouTube TV, fuboTV and Philo which are among out top three favorites.

Subscribing to Hulu Live won't cost you anymore with the addition of these channels and their price will remain at $40/month. This brings the total channels in their package up to 60 and it also includes Hulu's excellent package of on-demand content which alone costs $7.99 with limited commercials or $11.99 without ads.

Hulu Live Cloud DVR

If you subscribe to Hulu Live it also includes their Cloud DVR which also gives you 50 Hours of storage. You can upgrade this to 200 Hours of storage with the Enhanced Cloud DVR Add-on.

Here is where things get interesting. With the Enhanced Cloud DVR, they allow you to fast forward through the commercials. With their standard Cloud DVR you can't. Their Enhanced Cloud DVR, costs another $14.99 a month. A pretty steep price added to the monthly bill for the luxury of skipping commercials on recorded Live TV.

Before you hand over your credit card, be sure to check out these top three live streaming TV services which all include a Cloud DVR as well.
