New Features Included in Synology DSM 6.0 beta 2
A Collaboration Suite That is Feature Rich SpreadSheet and Note Station can be shared with user groups now and spreadsheets can be encrypted for more security.
New Advanced Features for Business PetaSpace package will let you create a large shared folder across multiple volumes, a Hyper Backup Explorer can let you browse your backup repository from both the backup source and destination.
An Enhanced Multimedia Experience Video Station app now supports offline transcoding, this allows you to transcode a video file in advance, download it to your mobile devices, and watch videos without being connected to the Internet saving network bandwidth.
Stronger and Better NAS Security By providing more advanced control over application framework, DSM 6.0 software now allows role-based access for non-root WebAPI, while “Let’s Encrypt” integration simplifies SSL certificates management.
Expect to see the full final release of DSM 6 a little later this year. Owners of Synology NAS models will be able to update their software to DSM 6 once it's released.
